Hi! I'm Beth, the founder of Goody Granola. I'm passionate about creating delicious, no refined sugar granola that's perfect for a healthy lifestyle, made with the finest natural ingredients to bring you the best start to your day.
In 2018 I suddenly stopped in the cereal aisle in the supermarket and realised there was an alternative to the many different low sugar granolas I had been buying for years and years! They were never tasty enough to eat on their own and included some unhealthy ingredients. The answer, a version of my Mum's homemade granola! I thought if I feel this way, possibly other low sugar granola customers do as well. So why not try making and selling a version of my Mum's.
I say version of my Mum's because she has Brazil nuts and Hazelnuts in hers which I always pick out. Sorry Mum.
For a long time, I embarrassingly talked about it, but didn't take any action. As the years passed, even in a job interview when asked 'What would your dream job be?' I answered, 'To make and sell a version of my Mum's homemade granola'.
Then in lockdown, I was struggling with my happiness. Our bedroom ceiling collapsed and I had to check the weather forecast each evening because the dripping rain in buckets kept me awake. I found home schooling my twin sons, awful.
I kept putting off trying to make and sell my granola because I thought I needed a team of people to do it properly.
Out of desperation, to find some joy and stop my sons' disappointment in me (they kept asking when I was going to try making and selling my granola). I videoed myself saying, ‘Today I am going to make a version of Mum's granola’ I gave it to my sons' to try and then one of them, Luca, without realising it became my, 'accountability coach' asking each day, if today’s recipe was a success.
After many unsuccessful attempts, I finally made a granola we all loved.
The next step was coming up with a name. The four of us went into different rooms and wrote down our ideas. Both Luca and my husband, Louis had ‘Goody Granola’ on their lists so that was the winner.
I have three recipes, Original, Nut free and Vegan.
My ‘Why?’ started as me wanting a great tasting, low sugar, healthy granola that my sons would be proud I had created.
My 'Why?' now is to have Goody Granola in shops all over the world, and online orders growing each month.
The Goody Granola business is the best job I have ever had. My customer interactions are wonderful. I enjoy making it and love eating it!
